Position Description:

Community Housing Solutions Center is looking for a full time rapid rehousing case manager that will be responsible for assisting clients in obtaining and maintaining housing for up to 6 months utilizing ESG funds. The housing case manager will work closely with the client's case manager at community housing solutions (on site) to secure housing in the Hillsborough County area.

With guidance from the Program Supervisor, the Housing Coordinator will provide housing retention services to individuals who were formerly homeless. The Housing case manager will work directly with residents of the Community Housing Solutions Center to assist residents in obtaining housing utilizing ESG funds and provide ongoing case management to ensure that tenants successfully retain their housing over a 6 month period. The Housing Case manager will assist the client in maintaining housing and provide additional referrals to programs that may be of assistance to the resident once housed. The Housing Coordinator will work creatively to prevent eviction and other housing related issues.

Position Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel and make multiple visits in the field
  • Experience working with homeless individuals
  • Experience working in a crisis setting and ability to respond appropriately in an emergency situation
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and reasonable accommodations
  • Can work independently and as part of a team
  • Receives direction well and integrates suggestions into your work.
  • Must have reliable transportation

Required Experience:

  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Minimum two year of related experience
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field
  • Master's Degree preferred
